Welcome to

AMO Communications!

I'm Amanda M. Ortiz. A lifelong love of the written word and an eye for typographical errors (even ones I wish I could unsee!) have paved my path to proofreading and copyediting. I am a multilingual, native U.S. English speaker, with a background in international affairs, translation services, international education, and project management.

I look forward to working closely with you to facilitate delivery of error-free content, for the furthering and elevation of your work and/or your brand!

About Me "Potpourri":

My favorite (newly discovered!) punctuation mark is the interrobang. I relish coming across unfamiliar eggcorns and mondegreens and am often still struck by heteronyms and contronyms. As an avid reader, one of my prescient regrets is knowing that, despite my best efforts, my life span inevitably dictates that books on my TBR list will go unread. I have had the privilege, though, of reading some truly incredible ones thus far! Some of my all-time favorites: The Farming of Bones by Edwidge Danticat, The Seamstress by Frances de Pontes Peebles, Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri, In the Time of the Butterflies by Julia Alvarez, and The Fire Next Time by James Baldwin.

When not at the library, hunting for a bookshop, or editing and proofreading, you can find me baking (I have one relentless sweet tooth!), globetrotting, creating for my Etsy shop (I'm also a lettering artist), writing a book reviewor crafting a new story
